Tooth Erosion is the loss of tooth structure. The main cause
of tooth erosion is acid and bacteria attacking on enamel which is the solid
surface of our tooth. Tooth erosion affects tooth sensitivity and produce different
dental problems. There are some symptoms which will be helpful to identify
tooth erosion disease, so we can get proper treatment from a good orthodontist at
initial stage of disease. Otherwise if diseases reach at final stage then they
show harmful results in our body and health.
Early symptoms of tooth erosion: teeth discoloration, weal tooth sensitivity,
rounded and shorter teeth, transparency in tooth. Cracking and tooth decay are advance symptoms
of tooth erosion.
An Orthodontist suggests these tips to prevent tooth
erosion:

After having acidic food or drink, always rinse
your mouth with pure water. So that acids and bacteria will not affect your
teeth.

2. Do not brush instantly after having acidic food
or beverages.

3. Use straw to drink soft drinks. So that it will
directly do into your mouth and will not contact your teeth. A straw will not
give a chance to wash your teeth by harmful acids.

4. Try to
chew a sugar-free gum. It will keep your mouth wet and will increase saliva
flow. Chew gum will mineralize your teeth.

5. Brush your teeth with a soft toothbrush and
toothpaste which contains fluoride but not in excessive quantity.
